Instrumental teacher

Instrumental teacher Patrick shaking hands with previous instrumental teacher

Patrick (on the left) is our instrumental teacher, recently taking the role from our previous musical director Chip (on the left).

Patrick received a Bachelor of music performance degree from the Adelaide Conservatorium of music majoring in Bass Trombone and can play (to varying degrees) all of the brass instruments in the band including: cornet, flugelhorn, tenor horn, baritone, euphonium, trombone and tuba.

An enthusiastic teacher of both music theory and practice, Patrick can provide you with the ability to read music and play the brass instrument of your choice.

Depending on the size of the child some instruments such as the trombone and tuba will not be appropriate until they grow a little larger.

One of the main reasons Enfield Brass offers free instrument lessons is to feed new members to the brass band.

Learners are encouraged to join the band as soon as they feel they are ready. Sitting down next to other members and reading the same music together withing the band is great fun and goes a long way to improving sight reading of music and aural perception.

Learn how to read music and play a brass instrument and become a member of Enfield Brass. Go on to compete in brass band competitions, play in various ensembles and entertain your community.
